House on the Hill

ongoing

93250 Kuching, Sarawak.

House on the Hill is a 3 generations family home that comes with 3-storeys living spaces, a basement carpark and utility space on the basement floor. The highest floor is allocated for studies and entertainment with an outdoor patio that functions as a viewing lounge, overlooking the skyline of the surrounding area.

Timber is implemented into the design of the house extensively from the flooring to wall cladding and strip ceilings, even the door and window frames, door panels and sunscreens uses timber as material, which creates a sense of warmth in the spaces within and a harmonious connection with the green surroundings.

The central atrium with suspended stairs and lift acts as the main linkage between all floors; internal and external visual connectiveness is maintained by having elements of fenestration along the corridor spaces.
