Ko Residence

2021

Kuching, Sarawak.

The design of the house is to transform a late 20th-century house into a contemporary house by reusing the existing structure of the house.

The main spaces of the house have direct connection with the outdoors through a shaded wooden deck, which extends the interior space to the outside and protects the windows from rain and wind. Swimming pool outside of the wooden deck, which contributes to the aesthetics and at the same time helps in evaporative cooling, thus influencing the microclimate of the area. The double-volume staircase creates a new space and maximizes daylight from the evening sun.
