Tay Villas
ongoing
93250 Kuching, Sarawak.
Twin villas, each rising two and a half storeys, specially designed as a shared residence for two brothers, their families, and their mothers. The each unit is approximately 11.9 m wide and 14.5 m long, with each one boasting a total walled up floor area of 3,700 ft². The villas both adhere to a minimalist, dynamic and angular design, creating the appearance of one cohesive bungalow instead of a pair of semi-detached houses.
All in all, the villas house 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms, satisfying the practical needs and comfort of the multi-generation family living under their roofs. The design embraces a spacious, open plan living concept: triple volume voids in both the dry kitchen and dining area maximise cross ventilation and natural lighting, while latticed sun screens are strategically incorporated to ensure privacy and reduce sun glare within the internal spaces. A roof terrace on the top floor serves as a gathering space, offering a panoramic view of the neighbourhood's public park.
